Experience in the technology field for over 25 years, has helped me make people’s lives easier. From business equipment to information technology, customer service has been a part of every position I have held. No matter what the field is, there will always be an element that requires human interaction and customer satisfaction. That is where I can help your organization.With a full range of experience from the most current as a Product Manager, I get to bring personalities of all sorts, create teams, and help them succeed. Projects completed on time and within the specified budget with few exceptions. 11 years of managing an operations and support center at Brigham Young University and employed 90 part-time student employees and 4 full-time supervisors. Turnover of part-time employees average 2-5 years depending when they graduate.Hard assignments and exceeding expectations are part of a normal day’s activities. Customer satisfaction is a must and every effort will be made to ensure that happens.
Michael R. Crookston
CSR, University Communications & OIT
Michael provides technology strategy and computer support for University Communications. The position he holds is shared between University Communications and the Office of Information Technology.
A Provo native, Michael worked in law enforcement for 15 years, first for the Department of Energy and later with BYU Police where he was an emergency systems technician. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University.
Steven J. Burton
Systems Administrator, McKay School of Education
Steve has been providing information technology support for the College of Education/McKay School of Education since the MS-DOS/Macintosh/NetWare/Gopher days of 1992. He and his team of student employees manage computer hardware, software, network, and data security, provision and administer servers, and assist faculty and staff in using information technology for their various teaching and research needs. He is currently serving on the university Computer Support Representative Advisory Committee and the Systems Support Career Development Council.

Please note: Before meeting with the CDC, it would be helpful to have taken time to reflect upon your own career desires and aspirations and to have completed the workbook and "S-curve" chart provided in the resources section. Strong consideration should be given to personal aptitudes, skills and interests. Please know that the CDC will be a good resource to share your thoughts and feelings with and to receive feedback, guidance and direction, but that the majority of the initiative and effort will need to come from the Community member.
